SUMMARY:Music of the North Countries!
DESCRIPTION:Cool off listening to the great composers of the north countries: Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) of Russia composed a beautiful work for piano\, violin\, and cello\, his trio Op. 50. You know his Nutcracker Suite\, Swan Lake\, 1812 Overture\, and more.  Tchaikovsky has made careers happen with his compositions\, which are not only beautiful but also challenging. Pianist Van Cliburn was catapulted to fame after winning the International Tchaikovsky piano competition in Moscow in 1958 at age 23. We will perform the first movement of Tchaikovsky’s seldom-heard trio\, as well as his songs for soprano. We will contrast his work with the music of contemporary composer Ola Gjeilo (Yay-lo)\, born in Norway in 1978. Gjeilo’s music is described as cinematic and evocative\, with a lush\, harmonious sound. Violinist Keyreel Raskolenko will perform Norwegian fiddle and folk music. \nPerformers: violinists LeeAnne Chenoweth and Keyreel Raskolenko\, cellist Alice Jeong-A Lee\, pianist Heejung Kang\, soprano Youna Hartgraves\, and tenor Erik Larson. SUMMARY:Valentines Special & Fundraiser w/ Special Guest: Pianist\, Danny Wright
DESCRIPTION:Valentines Special and Fundraiser! Special guest\, pianist Danny Wright! February 10 only! Hickman Center\, Ft. Worth. Heavy hors d’ oeuvres\, complimentary wine\, and soft drinks. \nAn exciting message from Timeless Concerts president and artistic director LeeAnne Chenoweth: \nWe Timeless Concerts performers have prepared a very special concert for you! We are excited and honored to be able to present special guest artist\, pianist Danny Wright\, who recently returned to live in Ft. Worth! Danny grew up in Fort Worth and sold over 11 million albums as of 2019 since his debut in 1986. He has been named twice by Billboard magazine as a Top 10 artist in New Age Music\, but he specializes in three distinct music styles: adult contemporary compositions\, Broadway show tunes and movie themes\, and classical music. He has been inspired by Beethoven\, Pachelbel\, and Debussy\, as well as by such Broadway greats as Gershwin\, Andrew Lloyd Webber\, Jerome Kern\, and Stephen Sondheim. Wright began playing piano at age four and studied classical piano under Dr. Harris Cavender for ten years. Wright has a gift for improvising and had won a full scholarship to TCU\, where he studied music education. He began composing his own music in 1985. With Dori and Bob Nichols\, he founded the label Nichols-Wright Records (later Moulin D’Or Recordings) to release his own albums\, making his recording debut in 1986. As of the 1990s\, Wright began playing concerts all over the US. I remember accompanying Danny Wright in concert with other members of the Ft Worth Symphony in the 90s\, and I am thrilled we have reconnected! Danny has graciously agreed to be our special guest for this important fundraiser! \n \nYes\, our regular Timeless Concerts performers will be part of this concert: violinists LeeAnne Chenoweth and Tim Angel\, cellist Alice Lee\, pianist Heejung Kang\, tenor Sergio Cepeda and soprano Youna Hartgraves.  We love that we present all types of music! Our repeat audience knows that over the years\, our vocalists and musicians have performed music of nearly all eras and styles\, from Bach and Vivaldi to Puccini and Verdi to today’s living composers. For this special evening\, we are preparing tangos of Argentina\, the most beautiful opera arias and chamber music of the French and Italian romantics. As our special guest artist\, Danny Wright will perform his own compositions for solo piano for a portion of the concert. \nStay for the post-concert party accompanied by pianist Erik Barnes while mingling with our concert performers. \nFor this Valentines Special\, charcuterie items and gourmet desserts will be available (although not dinner-size portions)\, as well as complimentary wine and soft drinks. SUMMARY:London to Rome!
DESCRIPTION:From English jigs to the familiar well loved Neapolitan songs of Italy\, to music of the Red Violin movie! English composer Gustav Holst composed the famous symphonic work\, “The Planets”. However\, a charming work of his\, not as well known\, is on our program: The Saint Paul Suite. This wonderful work has the feel of English jigs and incorporates the traditional “Greensleeves” melody in the 3rd movement. Holst also composed beautiful songs for soprano that will be sung by Youna Hartgraves. Tenor Sergio Cepeda will sing traditional Neapolitan songs\, and both our vocalists will perform Italian opera arias. Violinist Tim Angel will perform the virtuosic Red Violin Caprices\, composed for the 1998 drama film Red Violin\, by John Corigliano. Other performers include violinist LeeAnne Chenoweth\, pianist Heejung Kang and cellist Oliver Schlaffer. Complimentary wine\, soft drinks and snacks.\nNote: Seating is limited to 50 and unassigned. Unlike the Hickman location\, there is no table seating. Many of our regulars enjoy the small intimate space\, salon style. \nPurchase your tickets here: https://buy.ticketstothecity.com/purchase.php?event_id=12786
